I am thinking The Love (of Jesus) Boat – A Cruise fully loaded with passengers enjoying the Gospel/Christian music, eating the Midnight Covered-Dish Buffet, Swimming on the SONshine Deck in the pool and stopping at ports along the way to share the Word and God’s Love! May just be wishful thinking since it is so hot this week in WESTERN WEAR although we and the children are loving the RANCH!

We are excitedly rounding up final preparations for VBS the end of June. Making plans for kids ministry conference, camps,etc.. We think we’re going on a hot air balloon adventure in 2011!!!

I’ve got to believe the theme is Stuff and Things…and if not, maybe it can be in the future because the youth of today, well all of us, are overloaded with “stuff”. We are guilty of being so involved in our “stuff” (texting, computers, tv, sports etc) we sometimes fail to remember that Jesus should be our focus in our daily walk. Too bad God can’t be sent a text. LOL

I think the theme will center around a train ride.
I really enjoy the tropical theme’s. I am always looking for decorating materials, since I am creatively challenged, and there are always tropical items to be found in the summer. It is a way to incorporate the water/ocean, etc. But for every VBS we’ve done, we have always managed. It’s all about showing the love of God!

I have read the many guesses, but with dinosaurs? as a clue, I’m not sure. I have thought for some time that a NASCAR theme (racing to win) would be good.

My immediate thought was circus theme or celebration. Balloons and confetti together remind me of a ticker tape parade. All the big balloon characters. But due to the fact that we have many men and women fighting in a war to protect our freedom and the fact that the very mention of God is being attacked from every direction, I think a patriotic theme celebrating our freedom to worship our Lord & Savior.

Did you see the address on the letter (FRANKtown, SINATRA street) and the apple and Empire State Building on the table? We are obviously going to NEW YORK, NY–the “Big” Apple, “Hot Dog” Vendors, Ticker-Tape Parades (Confetti), Wall Street ($50 bills/money). Donny is wearing aviator goggles and “Viator” tours is the group that runs the observatory at the Empire State Building.
In the first video when Donny does the “Everybody loves…” thing he holds up an apple and mentions taxi drivers and lawyers. New York (the Big Apple) is full of taxi drivers and lawyers. Did you notice the letters P, B, I, A on the wall behind him? I wonder if those are the initials for the theme?
And it was mentioned above that the “big balloons” with hot air could be the balloons in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade.

I think the them sounds like a county fair…….hot air balloons, hot dogs, tickets, music etc. I think that would be cute! However, I would REALLY like to see an American Idol type theme! Contemporary Christian music…..showbiz etc. Maybe “God’s Singing Superstars??” Big lights, big city, broadway….etc

With all the clues, I think it is a New York theme as well. However, my other thought was with the balloon, the All Aboard, the confetti that maybe it was a Ramblin’ Roadtrip type theme but traveling around the world in different modes of transportation: hot air balloon, train, cruise ship, airplane…………Just a thought. I can’t wait for next year!

Circus theme Love it!
When I saw that the first clue was a balloon I thought about Hot Air Balloon travels to different locations. Then the second clue was a hot dog and I was thinking maybe circus theme Under the Big Top. Whatever it is I’m sure it will be awesome just like all of the others. Each year I think they will never be able to out do this years theme but they always do!

Donny, I agree with the person who said you should get an allergy shot so you can get in that building to find out the theme for us. The suspense is killing us!! “Berth” day – It’s got to be a cruise ship. The ringing sounds like an elevator (lots of decks on a cruise ship) and those lights look like the kind on a cruise ship. Maybe the money part means all-inclusive and you don’t need money on a cruise. “Cruise”ade for Christ. You sure don’t need money to get into the kingdom of heaven because if you are saved, you have already been bought and your sin debt has been paid in full by Christ’s own sacrifice.
Using the clues I would venture a theme with hot air balloons. Possibly “Soaring high with Christ.”

The theme for next year is New York. The letters in the back ground spell out Big Apple. The hot dog is for the hot dog stands. the balloons and confetti are from time square on new years eve. Money is from wall street. the ships going in and out of the harbour. This is my guess. and the music would be from Boradway shows.

Now I’m thinking it’s just New York. Those lights could stand for the lights on the ball that drops on New Year’s Eve in Times Square. Maybe the theme has something to do with “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, your restless refuse from your teeming shores. Send these the homeless, tempest-tossed to me. I lift my lamp beside the golden door.” Much like Jesus calls us all to him – the sinners poor and needy, weak and wounded, sick and sore. I guess the ringing could be the elevator to the top of the Empire State Building (which is on the table). And the berth (in birthday) could mean the berth for the ships that brought the all of immigrants to America.
I think the clues mean that we will be going on a hot air balloon ride to New York City and discovering that God is our pilot.

It isn’t too much fun to venture a guess after it seems almost definately as if it is a NYC theme. You know, it would be fun to have the first round of guessing be for the VBS theme, and the second round for the Club VBS theme. Maybe club VBS will be that county fair theme mentioned. That would work great for our small church and be a lot of fun too!

As I said in my first post 2 days ago, It is a Hot air balloon theme “Around the World in ( ) Days”. The articles in the lower front of the videos indicate traveling to England (bus), New York (Empire State Bld. Apple), Australia (Koala), Latin America (Little fella with hat)? Maybe Texas (cow bell). Motto? GELP = Going Everywhere Loving People? Haven’t quite figured out PBIA yet.

A hot air balloon. It sounds like a carnival or theme park theme. I remember when we did Rambling Road Trip, the kids’ favorite place to “visit” was the theme park. Decorating ideas are already floating around in my head.
I would love the theme to be a hot air balloon trip; perhaps to visit missionaries. Unfortunately the clues all seem to point toward a New York/Big Apple theme (not my first choice). Oh well, we will use whatever theme emerges, to the best of our ability, to reach kids for Christ.

I think it has to do with a big cities, hot air balloon ride, “I love Jesus” travel in the hot air balloon and tell others all over the world about Jesus love for them.
Gods hot air-balloon trip to wonderland-Gods amusement park where we can enjoy all of the melting pot he has bless us with in the U.S.A. music,games and fun for one and all, where no one is not welcome, but loved by all.
Many have said a Hot air balloon race, but (even though I wish) I don’t think confetti has anything to do with hot air balloons. (I used to crew for a few).

Hallo! It’s Germany! The mole sent a clue of a BIG balloon which I think = blimp. Clue #2 is a hot dog = Frankfurt. Confetti, juggling (from the first video), and money could all be found at a festival like spring fair in Frankfurt or Carnival! That would be a great VBS!
Maybe a carnival theme, hot dogs, hot air balloons, whatever it is, Lifeway will have it all together, Christ centered and it will be fun!

I posted a message I thought last night but I can not find it. I was thinking that the theme would be on the lines of a hot air balloon festival. Life Way could call it Ride to Heaven or Heavenly Ride.

The big air balloon and hot dog air make me think of parades. The confetti shooters that they use are called a hot dog air compressor.

OK, I have to now hop on the Big Apple bandwagon. I think it’s going to be places around NY – you’ve got the hot dog carts, the big balloons in the parades, the confetti for Times Square, you have to spend money there….then there was the apple on Donny’s desk and the small Empire State Building.
Looking forward to tomorrow when the suspense will be over and we’ll finally get the news.
